Individual Psychotherapy for
Adults & Young Adults
Adults

The adults I work with represent a range of ages and backgrounds and enter therapy with a wide variety of issues and difficulties. The kinds of therapy I practice can provide emotional relief and support and/or they can offer a deeper process, that focuses on long-standing emotional and behavioral patterns, relationships or other issues to effect more enduring change. My approach is to individualize the therapy process for each person. You can get brief a sense of how I work in the Introduction section of this website and the section on Areas of Expertise will give you a sense of some of the ways in which I have helped adults for more than two decades.

For those who are seeking a more intensive experience, I offer contemporary psychoanalysis. In addition, I provide a unique kind of psychotherapy for parents that incorporates parenting guidance (see section on Parenting Therapy).

I am a sought-out teacher of psychotherapy and teach courses and supervise clinicians in psychotherapy with adults and young adults.

Young Adults

I work with many young adults who are in college, post-college or in their late twenties, who are either struggling and/or are sorting out their lives (e.g. who they are, who is in their life, what they want in their relationships, jobs or school, and where they are going). These times of transition can be challenging and can also be a particularly fruitful time for psychotherapy.
For details on the process of beginning a consultation and information about my practice, please see the Practical Matters section.
